- Andrea Verley
- Two sessions, 3-hours each
- Weekdays & Saturdays
Quilting is more popular than ever and it seems like everyone knows someone who is a quilter. If you would like to join the club, this is the class for you! You’ll learn all the basics of quilting with a smaller-size project (28 x 28 inches).
Longtime quilter and talented guide Andrea Verley will teach this project over two class sessions using sanitized cutting and quilting tools and sewing machines. You’re invited to purchase your preferred fabric and thread. We’ll provide material details when we’re completing your class reservation.
In Class One, you’ll learn:
How to use a rotary cutter, mat and quilting ruler
How to sew fabric together using a 1/4-inch seam
Assemble a simple quilt block
Pressing using an iron (you’ll learn something new!)
You’ll cut and assemble the top of your quilt in this first class using these skills.
In Class Two, you’ll learn how to:
Sandwich your quilt top with batting and backing
Quilt all the layers together using a walking foot on the sewing machine
Complete your quilt by adding the binding
Count on up to three hours for each class. The $95 fee covers payment for both classes.
COVID Safety Precautions for this Class
We are easily able to provide lots of distancing between students for this class, are sanitizing the space between guests, and have a medical grade HEPA air filtration machine in place. For the near term, we are requesting all our guests wear masks during classes. We’ll take a few breaks so you can enjoy some mask-free time on our patio. We don’t know the personal circumstances of all our friends – some may have people at home they need to be mindful of – so we’re choosing to be helpful to all – especially our community’s first responders and medical workers. We have super lightweight, disposable masks you are welcome to use. If you are medically unable to wear a mask, let us know and we will work with and welcome you!
