Make a set of nested fabric baskets and use this method to make themed sets for your holiday tables, children’s rooms and gift giving! Instructor Andrea Verley will take you through this basic pattern, suitable for Confident Beginners with some sewing experience.
You’ll bring your fabric pre-cut prior to class and ironed to fusible interfacing as directed below to make a set of three baskets sized 6″ (l) x 4″ (w) x 5″ (h); 5 ½” (l) x 3″ (w) x 4″ (h); 5″ (l) x 3″ (w) x 3″ (h).
You’re welcome to use our sewing machines or bring your own! We sanitize all our machines and tools before and after each class.
As pictured with different fabric for the lining:
3 Fat Quarters (Fabric A, B and C)
⅓ yard fabric for different colored lining
3 Fat Quarters to match the exterior with the lining
⅓ yard of 45-inch wide fusible interfacing (iron fusible one one side of the interfacing)
Matching or contrasting thread of your choice
Pre-cut your fabric in these dimensions:
(2) 10” x 8′
(2) 9″ x 7″
(2) 8″ x 6″
For the lining pieces: Cut (2) pieces of fabric in the above dimensions in the fabric of your choice.
For the Interfacing (you will iron it ONLY to the ‘wrong’ side of the lining fabric pieces:
(2) 10in x 8in
(2) 9in x 7in
(2) 8in x 6in
