Crochet Basics – Intro Class
Wed January 8 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm| $20.00
Learn the basics of crochet with instructor Anna Ruff. She’ll share the terminology and abbreviations you’ll find in patterns, how to make a slip knot, hold the crochet hook and yarn, create chain, single and double crochet stitches and how to fasten off when you’re finished. We’ll touch briefly on how to read patterns but this class is for the true beginner or someone needing a refresher course in how to get started.
Whether you are right- or left-handed, you will learn the basics of crochet and be ready to take the intermediate class where we will make a simple headband (perfect for holiday gift giving!).
This is a relaxed class of 60 – 90 minutes with everyone welcome to stay longer to keep practicing (or start a project!).
Class size is limited to six students so the instructor has ability to work individually with each student.
We’ll supply what you need for this class but if you have supplies you would like to bring, here is the supplies list:
Size 5.5 mm crochet hook
A large, blunt-end needle the yarn will fit through (so you can finish by threading the last yarn back into the fabric)
Yarn – check the label wrapped around the ball of yarn for the crochet hook symbol. It should indicate the yarn is appropriate for a hook sized 5.5 mm
