Embroidery Basics #2: Stem & Satin Stitches
Wed December 4 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm| $20
In this beginner class, students will learn how to embroider using stem and satin stitches with instructor Andrea Verley. These stitches are part of a basic set of stitches to have in your embroidery knowledge bank.
This class is for new embroiderers or those looking to get back into embroidery. The relaxed, one-hour session will allow for hands-on practice and assistance with technique. You’re welcome to stay after class and enjoy some time in the comfy social stitching area.
The project we’ll make is the festive ornament shown above. Each student will choose two or three colors of DMC floss from the Rabbit & Rocket DMC display and we’ll provide a 5-inch hoop, fabric with the design drawn on the fabric, needle and scissors. At the end of class, you’ll get to keep your finished work in the hoop, your chosen thread and needle. Scissors may be purchased if you decide you’d like a pair!
There are four Embroidery Basics Classes and this is the second. The complete series is:
Embroidery Basics #1: Backstitch and Straight Stitch
Embroidery Basics #2: Stem and Satin Stitch
Embroidery Basics #3: French Knots and Lazy Daisy Stitches
Embroidery Basics #4: Couching
Sign up individually for all four sessions, or, sign up just for the stitches you’d like to learn or master! The $20 class fee is for a single class, not the series and includes all materials required to make this project. Scroll down to purchase your seat!
