Holiday Applique – The Turkey Tea Towel
Sat October 24 @ 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm| $55.00
Make your own turkey tea towel or give a handmade hostess gift this holiday season while learning this wonderful technique from expert quilter Denise Wright. Denise uses and teaches appliqué techniques from small projects to large scale quilts. She’ll be able to provide you seasoned guidance and best techniques for this fun and artful method.
For this class, she’ll provide the tea towels and colorful fabrics. (She’ll even have ready-made kits to take home if you’d like to make more!) You just bring your sewing machine, sharp scissors and autumn colorway threads in rayon or polyester. Skill level required is confidence with sewing machine and perhaps some beginning machine appliqué experience (but not required).
You’ll learn how to machine appliqué curves, straight lines and corners. You’ll cut out the pieces to make your turkey, iron it to the tea towel and machine appliqué. The tea towel measures 20 x 28 inches.
STUDENTS SHOULD BRING:
Your own sewing machine
Rayon or Polyester sewing thread in Autumn color ways
